Your Guide to Dry Brushing

Updated: Feb 18, 2024

Energize your day and sweep the stress away.

Dry Brushing is the act of using a soft but firm natural bristle brush to sweep off dead skin cells and improve the appearance of skin. Incorporate dry brushing into your morning routine if you’re looking for an energizing way to start your day.

It’s recommended that you use a body oil before or after you brush. If you’re applying the oil directly to the brush, you will want to shower before brushing. I personally prefer to brush first, shower, then apply oil. Read on for our guide to dry brushing.

HOW TO GUIDE TO DRY BRUSHING:

Before you begin, remember that brushing should not be painful. Don’t press hard or use a brush that is too stiff.

Step 1

Start at the feet and work up the legs. Always be brushing up towards your heart in short strokes.

Step 2

Next, move to your arms. Start at your hands and continue up your arm towards your chest with short strokes.

Step 3

Lastly, move to your chest and stomach area and brush in counterclockwise circles.

For optimal results brush daily for three to five minutes.
